Never to be forgotten
This Sunday marks the one-year anniversary of the tragic loss of Kade Nelson, Mason Gann and Emmett Darnell in a car wreck. All year-long their friends and family have continued to honor them and that tradition will continue. On Thursday, Pima High School staff members and students will remember Mason by gathering around his truck to enjoy his favorite snacks of Dr. Pepper and Goldfish crackers. On Friday, Thatcher High School students will pick up litter around the school and host a barbecue to celebrate Kade. Folks from all over Graham and Greenlee counties will be participating in another commemorative drive on March 6, as well. The details of it are still being pulled together.
Never the same
If only all police calls were so simple...On Feb. 11, a woman asked SPD officers to check on her teenaged son because her ex-husband's house was dirty and there were clothes everywhere. She admitted that other than that, her son was well cared for. The officer told her there was nothing he could do to make her ex-husband clean his house. Oh, and I'm thinking most agencies don't have the time to do what another SPD officer did on Valentine's Day. According to a report, he saw an elderly woman with a limp walking down West Thatcher Boulevard carrying a backpack and a bag. He gave her a ride. Officers always say their days are never the same.Don't miss out!
